Abstract:

Italian Seismic Bulletin (BSI), Second quarter 2018, version 1.0. In this issue we publish the earthquakes that occurred in Italy in the period May - August 2018; they include the events belonging to the seismic sequence started on August 24, 2016 in central Italy, with the earthquake of Amatrice (Magnitude 6), called sequence of Amatrice-Visso-Norcia (AVN in the following). The BSI Working Group reviewed all earthquakes of magnitude M>=2.3 belonging to AVN, and all earthquakes of magnitude M>=1.5 occurred in other Italian areas. This issue includes a total of 8674 earthquakes, of which 5225 belong to the AVN sequence. 108 of them have magnitude M>=2.3 and 1 have magnitude M >=3.5. This BSI publication includes 33737 P phases and 23695 S phases; these include 14227 P phases and 11165 S phases generated by the AVN sequence. The data were recorded by 470 stations belonging to the Italian National Seismic Network, managed by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), and to other regional and international networks managed by different providers. The localizations and phases of the Italian Seismic Bulletin are available on a quarterly basis in Quakeml format at http://terremoti.ingv.it/bsi but are also available, since 1985 to the present, in the ISIDe database at http://terremoti.ingv.it/.
